The Bible tells us that faith without works is dead. If we don’t put our faith into action, it’s not really faith; it’s just nice ideas. You see, when God truly does a work in our lives, it affects everything about us. It affects our words, our thoughts and our actions. How do you know someone is generous? By their generous actions. How do you know someone is kind? By their kind actions. How do you know someone is gentle? By their gentle actions. How do you know someone is a follower of Christ? By their Christ-like actions.
My son Adam has un-wavering faith. We have a nice community park with shelter house and beautiful play ground beside the town's community pool and we thought it would be a good idea to take the kids and let them play awhile. We have learned when we do this it wears them out and it is much easier to get them to lay down and night and go to bed. While we were at the park Adam found a new friend who was about 4 years old and they played well together. Adam's friend was having trouble with his shoes and for some reason the shoe string was tied in numerous knots and he was trying to get the shoe off because some of the small rocks found a way into the bottom of his shoe and was hurting his foot. I over heard Adam tell the boy, "Let's take it to daddy he can fix it."
Let's take it to daddy and he can fix it is the kind of faith we should all have. Just like Adam had the unwavering faith in me that I could solve this boys problem we should look to God that He too can do the same thing. It really made me pause and think when I heard Adam tell that boy that. My father is the same way. No matter what problem I have or what need I have he comes running and always helps. He never asks for anything in return and this is his love language. He gives, solves, helps, answers, protects, fixes, and gives advice. And without question I go to him whenever I need anything knowing that I can find what I am looking for in my Father. The same way is true in our heavenly Father. We have to have faith to go to Him knowing that He is going to fix whatever problem or help us through whatever problem we are facing. I have learned a lot from my children and am sure that I have a lot more to learn but I am so grateful that God has put them into my life and entrusting me with these two precious teachers.
Praying that the Grace of God be with you all and that God's favor and blessings overtake you and His love keep you.
